Featured Deviation, "No Boundaries" [link]

Oct. 19th will mark the 3rd year of my Godbrother Jody's passing. Born 6 days apart, same month, same year, our mother's knew each other since about 5th grade. We spent a lot of time as family, growing up and getting into mischief. I still remember the time when he let me put barretts in his hair, I went crazy with a whole package of them, they got tangled up, and we had to literally cut them out. I remember his 16th birthday where he was handed a pair of keys, and had to figure out which car, among the masses parked for the festivities, was his new car, and how we got in and took her for a spin down the road. After that, my family moved, and I grew up, and we grew apart for a while. It was only in recent years, since my last days in MT, did we start to communicate again - and communicate did we! Hours on the phone! And knowing I was coming to FL, trying to find the time among the distance to get together. But that never happened.

It is for Jody that I dedicate "Memorial". This will forever be his painted poem.

You know, when I write, I never title. It is only when prompted to that I must create one, and the title I had picked for this poem wasn't working, causing me to procrastinate further in its completion. It is only after the word "memorial" popped into my head that I found enough inspiration to finalize this piece. I can only attribute this to Jody and his muse - I know because I can feel it. Thank you!

This is a reminder to me, to his family, to everyone, of the totality of existence and the beauty of the universe.
